Some tips on where to surf in the Maldives.
For surfers who are new to the sport, the North Male Atoll and the Outer Atoll are the best surfing sites. The South Male Atoll also offers surfing sites in the Maldives, visit from March to November which is also known as the Monsoon season in the Maldives, the waves and currents are ideal for surfing.

Surfing in the South Male Atoll

Surfing sites in the South Male Atoll include, Quarters (Gulhigaathuhuraa), Natives (Kandooma Resort), Kate’s (near Plam Tree Island Resort) and Riptides (near Guraidhoo Island). Most of these sites are located in uninhabited islands in the Maldives, giving the surfers much needed space and privacy to enjoy their sport.

Surfing in the North Male Atoll
The North Male Atollin the Maldives have chickens to the eastern reef of the Male Atoll in Villingilimathi Huraa and Cokes near Thulusdhoo. These two locations can be reached through a dhoni. Other surfing sites in the Maldives are Sultans (Tari Village Resort), Ninjas (Kanifinolhu Resort), Tombstones (Thamburudhoo Island), Honky’s (Thamburudhoo Island) and Male Island Point (Full Moon Beach Resort, Furana Fushi Island).
